Healthcare occupation is one of six categories chosen by the IRCC for the category-based selection. Category-based draws are similar to normal Express Entry draws. However, while the normal Express Entry focuses on a candidate’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, category-based draws highlight job experience in the desired occupation.

Eligibility for the healthcare occupations category

To be eligible, you must

• have accumulated, within the past 3 years, at least 6 months of full-time, continuous work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work experience)
  • in a single occupation listed in the table below
  • in Canada or abroad
• meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that round
