STEM-specific draws are among Canada’s category-based Express Entry systems. It allows Canada to welcome Express Entry candidates based on work experience rather than Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.

Current categories

To be invited to a STEM-specific draw, you must have at least six months of acceptable job experience within the last three years to process PR Application. Regardless of whether this job was accomplished in Canada or overseas, your obligations must coincide with those of the following National Occupation Classification (NOC codes):

To be eligible, you must

  • have accumulated, within the past 3 years, at least 6 months of full-time, continuous work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work experience)
  • in a single occupation listed in the table below in Canada or abroad
  • meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that round
